2024 Hyundai Sonata N line AWD, Engine, Models

2024 Hyundai Sonata N line AWD, Engine, ModelsThe Hyundai Sonata is a fantastic car. Except for the N Line’s powerful turbo-four, the powertrains are uninspired, and rivals are more fun to drive. Apart from that, there aren’t many negative aspects to this vehicle. The Sonata has one of the most comfortable interiors in the midsize car market and gets good gas mileage. The seats are supportive and comfortable, the trunk space is sufficient, and the infotainment system is easy. The Sonata is a good option unless you’re looking for pure performance. Apart from its underwhelming driving dynamics, this Hyundai impresses on every level, and its low price makes it a great value in the class.

The 2024 model remains primarily unchanged, which isn’t always a bad thing. With its turbocharged 2.5-liter engine producing 290 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque, the N Line variant gives excellent performance. Even the most powerful Honda Accord can’t compete, yet the 6-cylinder engine in the Toyota Camry is still more powerful. The Sonata Hybrid, which features a 192-hp engine, is also an option. The Hyundai Sonata’s build quality is excellent, the drive is smooth, and the safety ratings are among the best in the class; it has all it takes to compete with famous Japanese rivals.

The Hyundai Sonata N Series has been redesigned for 2024.

The 2024 Hyundai Sonata sedan is a beautiful car, and we enjoy the quirky taillights. Still, most people will have trouble identifying it in a parking lot full of Kia K5s and Honda Accords. The wraparound lighting signature surrounding the Hyundai logo at the back, on the other hand, is quite impressive. All Hyundai Sonata cars come standard with LED headlights, automatic high beam assist, and solar control windows. On SEL models, heated side mirrors and a few cosmetic changes are expected. To the N Line’s unique front and back fascias and a rear spoiler, the Night adds a few delicious carbon fiber bits, dark chrome badging, red-painted brake calipers, and matte black trim on the mirror covers and top door handles. The standard model has 16-inch alloy wheels, which may be upgraded to 19-inch alloy wheels on N-Line models. The SEL Plus and higher model levels come standard with a glass sunroof. A solar roof is traditional on the top-of-the-line Hybrid Limited.

Because of its proportions, the Hyundai Sonata 2022 is classified as a medium car. It’s 192.9 inches long, making it shorter than the Kia K5 and Honda Accord, which are 196.1 inches long. The Sonata is 73.2 inches wide and 56.9 inches tall and has a ground clearance of 5.3 inches when the wing mirrors are removed. The wheelbase measures 111.8 inches in length. The lightest of the group is the SE, which has a curb weight of 3,120 pounds, while the highest is the N Line, which has a curb weight of 3,552 pounds. The hybrid series starts at 3,325 pounds for the Blue trim and goes up to 3,530 pounds for the SEL and Limited trims.

Interior

The inside of the Hyundai Sonata is simple and elegant in design. It has one of the most beautiful creations in the competition. It has the upper hand in terms of material quality, giving the cabin a luxurious appearance and feel, especially given its price range. Faux leather is also used to trim the dash on the upper trims. Depending on the frame, premium fabric, leatherette, or leather-trimmed seats are available.

Although the front row passenger capacity is excellent, the back legroom falls short of the competitors. The front chairs are very comfortable and supportive. It is perfect for long-distance travel because the padding is soft and pleasant. Power adjustment, as well as heated and ventilated functions, are available on higher-end models. The heated steering wheel is only available on the Limited trim level. A panoramic sunroof is an option as well. The Sonata has an 8-inch touchscreen display as standard, with a 10.25-inch collection available on higher trim levels. Apple Carplay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, HD radio, and various other options are all available. A 12-speaker Bose premium audio system with excellent sound quality complements the larger screen. The user interface is straightforward, and the screen responds quickly to the user’s actions.

Engine

The Sonata comes standard with a 191-horsepower, four-cylinder engine. It’s a well-kept engine with lots of power, but it won’t take your breath away. Acceleration is enhanced but not extraordinary with the optional 180-horsepower 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. You’ll get more ability from the N Line model, a 290-horsepower, turbocharged four-cylinder engine. All engines have an eight-speed automatic transmission as standard (N Line models come with a dual-clutch eight-speed). Both gearboxes offer smooth changes, and many critics think they’re better than the continuously variable automatic transmissions (CVTs) seen in many competitors.

For an AWD vehicle, the Sonata’s handling is exceptional. Because there aren’t a lot of understeers, you’ll have to work hard to get it off balance. The steering is exact, and the feedback is terrific. The Sonata is firmer and more planted than the hybrids, but it’s not unpleasant to drive on regular roads. You may experience minor bumps when cycling on cracked pavement. Although the driving dynamics aren’t fascinating, it performs admirably as a commuter vehicle.
