2024 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid Redesign, Engine, Specs

2024 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid Redesign, Engine, SpecsThis year’s Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid is the Korean manufacturer’s first effort at a hybrid SUV, a two-row midsize crossover now in its fourth generation in the United States. You can’t deny that the Santa Fe Hybrid is a big step forward for Hyundai to cut down on its carbon footprint and give its customers better fuel efficiency and environmental awareness.

In terms of horsepower, the Santa Fe Hybrid SUV has a new powerplant that includes a turbocharged four-cylinder engine and an electric hybrid system that generates 226 horsepower, making it slightly more potent than the new Toyota Venza hybrid. Still, it ranks pretty close to its Kia Sorento Hybrid cousin in overall performance and fuel efficiency. It is, however, the new Toyota competitor that is more efficient in this comparison. A 6-speed automatic transmission powers Santa Fe’s four wheels. Let’s see if Hyundai’s well-balanced SUV can benefit from electricity.

Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid 2024 Redesign

Both the Santa Fe and the Palisade have a lot in common in terms of design. Buyers of middle-sized SUVs will appreciate Santa Fe. If you’re not a fan of its largemouth, I think it works nicely with the split-level headlamps and silver trim on the lower half of its body. Without going overboard with the style of paint, which is more of Tucson’s domain, it’s handsome enough to get a few compliments. Now that hybrids are available in practically all Hyundai models, you won’t notice any brightwork indicating electricity; it’s just as natural as any other crossover.

The cabin of the Santa Fe Hybrid truly ups the ante in terms of luxury. My limited-trim tester costs $41,290, which includes $1,185 for the destination, but it should make families feel like they’ve moved up a class despite being in line with the average new-car purchase price in 2024. The heated and cooled leather seats are both comfy and supportive. Soft materials cover the critical contact points, and the overall build quality is excellent. I’m partial to the grilles on the front door speakers in terms of design.

Interior

The inside boasts a redesigned center stack and console design and ambient lighting choices, and the rear cargo area space has been enlarged by one-half cubic feet. Santa Fe has become much safer with features like bicycle and junction-turn recognition, parking collision avoidance assistance with a reverse function, highway driving assistance, lane following service, and navigation-based intelligent cruise control with road curve management. However, not all of these amenities are included in every trim level. More expansive eight-inch audio displays and a new, larger widescreen 10.25-inch navigation display are among the new features available in 2024. There’s also a 12.3-inch cluster display that’s the best in its class, wireless phone charging, Android Auto/Apple CarPlay functionality, and a Harman Kardon audio system.

In terms of load capacity, the Santa Fe Hybrid has few equals. With the second row folded flat, you’ll get 72.1 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats. Five passengers can fit in this Hyundai. It’s easy to bring in and out of this SUV, and both rows of seats have enough headroom and legroom. In addition, the chairs are comfortable and supportive.

Engine

An electric motor and a six-speed automatic transmission are standard on all Santa Fe Hybrid models. Both the traditional hybrid and the plug-in hybrid produce 226 horsepower. This Hyundai feels smooth and has quick acceleration and good power in most conditions. The electric-to-gasoline power transition is seamless, which isn’t often the case with rivals.

This Hyundai’s fuel efficiency isn’t quite as good as others compared to other hybrid SUVs. Compared to the two grades, the basic Santa Fe Hybrid Blue model returns 36 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the road. Electric vehicles score 76 MPG-equivalent in mixed city and highway driving, but that drops to 33 MPG-equivalent when the car is fueled by gas. Up to 30 kilometers of electric power is possible before the gasoline engine kicks in. A 240-volt connection takes around four hours to charge the battery completely.

The release date and price of the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid

The base price of the Santa Fe Hybrid is $33,750. It’s not unusual for the class to have a few lower-priced rivals. With a starting price of $39,350, the plug-in hybrid Santa Fe is a great option. The regular mixed Santa Fe Hybrid Limited starts at $40,160, while the plug-in hybrid Santa Fe Hybrid Limited costs $45,360. Compared to other class rivals, this Hyundai isn’t far off from outperforming many of its competitors in terms of pricing.
